Buzzing over…

This Privacy Policy describes how Tidbix LLC, doing business as “Waggle” (“Tidbix,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use the Waggle mobile and web applications and related services (the “Service”). It is incorporated into our Terms of Service.
Waggle is built around a simple privacy posture: only parents have accounts, we collect the minimum needed to run your household’s ledger, we show no ads, and we never sell personal information.
2.1 Parent account information. When you create a Parent Account we collect your email address, a display name, and your authentication credentials (a password we store only in hashed form, or a token from Google if you choose “Continue with Google”).
2.2 Children's information. Child Profiles are created and controlled entirely by the Parent Account. For each child we store only:
We do not collect a child’s full name, email address, phone number, precise location, photos of the child, biometric identifiers, or contact information of any kind. Children cannot create accounts, sign in, or communicate with anyone through the Service.
2.3 Content you add. Chore names, notes, and goal titles you enter while using the Service.
2.4 Technical information. Authentication session cookies (including the kid-mode session cookie, which we use solely to maintain the kid-mode session — a support-for-internal-operations purpose under COPPA) and basic server logs needed to operate and secure the Service. We do not use advertising trackers, and the Service currently includes no third-party analytics.
2.5 Push notification tokens. If you turn on push notifications in the mobile app, we collect a device push token — the delivery address that Apple or Google issues for your device so notifications (for example, “a chore is waiting for your OK” or a payday reminder) can reach it. Notifications are optional and off until you enable them; you can turn them off at any time as described in Section 8, and we delete tokens that stop working and when the household they belong to is deleted. Push tokens are collected only from parents’ devices — never through kid mode.
2.6 Crash and error diagnostics. If the app encounters an error, we collect a diagnostic report — the technical details of the error, the app screen involved, and basic device and operating-system information — through Sentry, our error-monitoring provider. These reports are configured to exclude personal information, are not linked to your identity, never record your screen, and are used solely to find and fix problems with the Service.
The Service is designed for parents. A child interacts with Waggle only through “kid mode,” a view inside the parent’s own account, on the parent’s device, exit-gated by a parent PIN.
Verifiable parental consent. Before we collect personal information from or about a child under 13, we obtain verifiable parental consent from the Parent Account holder through a method permitted under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”). Every Child Profile is created within an authenticated Parent Account, and the parent enters and controls the child’s information. We collect from the child only what is reasonably necessary to operate the household ledger (for example, chore completions and lesson progress), and we do not condition a child’s participation on providing more information than is reasonably necessary.
Third parties and internal operations. We disclose a child’s personal information only to the service providers identified in Section 5 (currently Supabase and, if you sign in with Google, Google; if a parent enables push notifications, Apple or Google also processes the content of those notifications — for example, a child’s nickname and a chore name — solely to deliver them to the parent’s device; Sentry receives only the de-identified crash diagnostics described in Section 2.6, not a child’s personal information), and only as needed to host, authenticate, and operate the Service on our behalf. We use the kid-mode session cookie solely to support the internal operation of maintaining the kid-mode session; it is not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing the Service. We will obtain separate verifiable parental consent before disclosing a child’s personal information to any third party for a purpose not permitted by COPPA, and we never use children’s information for marketing.
Parental controls. Parents can review, edit, or delete a child’s information at any time in the app (Settings → Kids), and deleting the household removes it entirely. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact us at hello@tidbix.com and we will delete it.
We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use personal information — including any child’s information — to train artificial intelligence models, whether our own or a third party’s.
We share information only with:
We keep children’s and household personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, and we do not retain it indefinitely.
You can also request deletion by emailing hello@tidbix.com.
We maintain a written information security program with safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we collect and the size and nature of our Service. These safeguards include: encryption in transit, hashed passwords, per-row database access rules that scope every record to its own household, httpOnly session cookies, and a parent PIN gating the exit from kid mode. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep your PIN private.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information. Most of these you can exercise directly in the app — everything Waggle stores about your household is visible in your ledger, editable in Settings, and deletable as described above. For anything else, email hello@tidbix.com and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Push notifications are always your choice: the app never turns them on without asking, and you can switch them off at any time — per notification type in the app’s Settings, or entirely in your device’s notification settings. The Service works fully without them.
The Service is directed to and operated from the United States, and data is stored on U.S.-based infrastructure. The Service is not directed to users located outside the United States.
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes — especially any change affecting children’s information — we will notify you by email or in-app notice before the change takes effect. The “Last Updated” date above always reflects the current version.
Questions or requests about privacy may be sent to hello@tidbix.com.
